Megan Roberts

RN, MSN, FNP-C

Co-Founder

Megan Roberts, FNP-C was born and raised in Dallas, TX and now resides in Lucas, TX with her husband and 3 children. She obtained her RN and MSN in 2008 from the University of Texas School of Nursing in Austin and began her medical career working in the medical/surgical inpatient hospital setting. She then went on to earn her FNP Post-Master’s Certificate through the University of Texas School of Nursing and became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the state of Texas in 2015. During the past decade Megan has gained experience as an advanced practice provider in multiple settings including family practice, integrative/functional primary care, inpatient and outpatient diabetes and endocrinology, and weight management. She focuses on helping clients achieve the freedom that true health, both inside and out, provides. While Megan is educated, licensed, and experienced in the Western medicine approach to healthcare in which she began her career, her focus is on practical wellness that utilizes lifestyle, nutrition, and environment to achieve well-being for the complete person and she is thankful that God has equipped her and given her the opportunity to do what she loves. Outside of healthcare Megan enjoys spending time outdoors with her family as well as cooking, swimming, and gardening.

Megan is passionate about helping people gain freedom from health issues that prevent them from living life and doing what they love. In her opinion, healthcare is often overly complicated and confusing, so her work focuses on practical and proven methods and protocols that produce healing and sustainable wellness.

Mike Roberts

Co-Founder

Mike Roberts (with no letters after his name) was born and raised in Houston, TX and now resides in Lucas, TX with his better half, Megan, and three children. He did not set out for a career in healthcare, but rather started his post-college career as a day trader in Austin, TX. Though he didn’t realize it at the time, day trading and working in markets gave him the opportunity to explore psychology, human nature, business, entrepreneurship, group dynamics, and decision-making. After 14 years of trading, he transitioned to another lifelong interest: building. He spent the next 3 years building and renovating single family and multi-family projects, as well as a brief stint in multi-family property management along the way. Mike has a history of jumping into (some say going a little nuts over) hobbies and interests with both feet. Some of these interests include woodworking, welding, gardening, furniture-making, beekeeping, and trees.

Mike’s interest in health has been a lifelong pursuit which started as a kid playing sports. He is particularly interested in movement and especially post-injury movement for high-mileage bodies like his own. Mike has had 7 surgeries to repair injuries and has substantial arthritis throughout his body. His appreciation for Functional Medicine has come after exhausting most of the Western Medicine options with disappointing outcomes. He feels strongly that there is freedom and opportunity for each of us beyond what we have typically come to expect, and that we do better when we look outside of ourselves with grateful hearts. As such, his goal and passion at Seventh Hand Wellness is to see others realize that same freedom, peace, and joy that he seeks for himself and his family.

What is the Seventh Hand?

When we hear the phrase “let me lend a hand,” it elicits feelings of relief, encouragement, confidence, and hope. It communicates to us that we are not alone and that there is help beyond our own strength and abilities.

God’s help is often depicted as a “hand” to lift us up beyond what we can do on our own. Isaiah records the words below:

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

The common unit to measure length in ancient times was the “cubit.” The common cubit was defined as six handbreadths, which corresponds to the Hebrew number for man (6). But there was another cubit known as the “Royal Cubit.” This Royal cubit was the standard six handbreadths plus a seventh handbreadth. It is understood that the seventh hand, like the number “7”, represents the divine.

At Seventh Hand Wellness we pursue wellness with all that we can do in our strength (6 hands) but always with our eyes looking for and looking to God to complete the work that only He can accomplish with His seventh hand.

What is the Circle 7?

The Circle 7 has developed more and more meaning over time. We were initially drawn to and intrigued by the design from an aesthetic standpoint. In a way it is a sort of “ink blot” test; the viewer’s perceptions can provide some insight into him or herself.

To us, we see the number 7, which is symbolic of “fullness” or “completeness” in ancient near eastern and Israelite culture. It is associated with the divine. The lines inside suggest an organic element and life. The lines also denote a fingerprint, yet not quite a human fingerprint. To us, it is God’s fingerprint, which we desire on every aspect of our lives, not the least of which is our health, wellness, and healing. One of the ways that God refers to Himself is “the Lord that Heals” or “the Lord is Healing.” At Seventh Hand Wellness we seek to have God’s fingerprints on all that we do.
